ways of seeing orientation brief

Yesterday our reading group began analysing our new brief. This project requires us to create a landmark representing Dundee that can be interacted with by members of the public via writing and drawing on it. The idea we have decided to initially stick with is a cardboard cutout of the word ‘design’ representing Dundee’s future in this area.

Once we had cut the word out of cardboard we realised that it was a bit too basic and not really ideal to draw on as it was quite small. That was when we came up with the idea of placing the word on a platform surrounded by little representations of things that Dundee is known for and other landmarks from its history and identity.

Currently I am sketching ideas for possible variations of this landmark design in order to make it more aesthetically appealing in relation to Dundee and making it more interactive in a social aspect.
