Our new brief for our Ways of Making module asks us to design a product which helps someone navigate themselves around a place.
We were shown a few examples of existing products which used innovative ways to help someone navigate around a place as well as encouraging exploration.
I took inspiration more from the exploration side of these products in my initial design.
The idea i’ve come up with is a piece of wearable technology with a part on the top which lights up and vibrates whenever the user comes close to a place of interest or a famous landmark. This would allow a resident to explore more of the city/place they live in as they won’t be telling the device exactly where they’re going, all it does is point out places that the user may have never noticed in order to help them learn more about their surroundings.
